Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and GoAloud ("we", "us") governing your use of GoAloud. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and you must be able to enter into a binding contract where you live. If you are using GoAloud on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

3. Your account

Give accurate details when you register and keep them current. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself — two-factor authentication is available in your security settings and we recommend turning it on. Tell us promptly at info@goaloud.ai if you believe someone else has access to your account.

4. What the service is — and what it is not

GoAloud is a practice tool. It gives you an AI conversation partner to speak English with, together with automated corrections, session summaries, and vocabulary suggestions.

It is not a teacher, a tutor, a school, or an examining body. Everything it tells you about your English — the corrections, the summaries, the figures on your overview — is generated automatically for your own orientation. None of it is an assessment, certificate, or qualification, none of it carries any standing with an employer, university, or immigration authority, and nothing here prepares or entitles you to any official certification.

5. Automated content

Replies, corrections, summaries, and vocabulary suggestions are generated by AI language models. They are usually helpful and sometimes wrong. A correction may be unnecessary, a suggestion may not fit your meaning, and a reply may state something inaccurate. Please treat the output as practice material and use your judgement.

Do not rely on anything the service produces as professional advice of any kind — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise — even when a scenario is role-playing such a setting. If a reply is offensive or plainly wrong, we would like to hear about it at info@goaloud.ai.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for anything unlawful, or to produce content that is harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes anyone's rights.
• Record anyone other than yourself without their knowledge and consent, or upload audio you do not have the right to submit.
• Attempt to extract our prompts or models, circumvent the service's safeguards, or use custom scenarios to make the partner behave in ways these terms prohibit.
• Access the service by automated means, scrape it, or generate artificial usage volume, including to exhaust the AI capacity behind it.
• Resell, sublicense, or make the service available to others as your own, or share an account between multiple people.
• Probe, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure.

7. Your content

Your recordings, transcripts, and the scenarios you write remain yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and transmit them — including to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy — strictly so we can deliver the features you are using. That licence exists only to run the service and ends when you delete the content or your account.

You confirm that what you submit does not infringe anyone else's rights and does not breach section 6.

8. Availability and changes

We are actively developing GoAloud, so features may be added, changed, or withdrawn. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it depends on third-party AI providers whose availability is outside our control. We may impose reasonable usage limits to keep the service running for everyone.

9. Fees

GoAloud is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we will say clearly what is included before you are asked to pay, and we will not start charging for something you already have without giving you notice and a chance to decline.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are required to act on by law, or that poses a risk to the service or its users. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.

11. Intellectual property

The service, its software, design, and branding belong to us and our licensors. These terms do not transfer any of those rights to you beyond the permission to use the service as intended.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and any warranty that using the service will produce a particular improvement in your English.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, opportunities, or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred euros. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms or of anyone else's rights.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and the courts of Greece have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
